FAQs

What is the deepest biome in Subnautica? ›

The deepest biome you're meant to visit is the Active Lava Zone at the end of the story - hidden underneath the Inactive Lava Zone, which is in turn hidden underneath the Lost River… which you can access from many biomes including the Deep Grand Reef and the Blood Kelp.

What is the safest biome in Subnautica? ›

The Safe Shallows contains coral reefs sprawling over a large part of the area, with small cave systems that can be found beneath the surface. As the name implies, this biome is one of the safest in the game, as it is a relatively shallow area, there are few environmental hazards, and no predators call this biome home.

How do you harvest nodes in Subnautica? ›

Despite their static nature, Harvesting Nodes can be picked up and launched by the Propulsion Cannon and will break on impact. Below Zero added improvements to Harvesting Nodes. When they are scanned, looking at nodes will tell the player what resource can drop from it.

Is there a Reaper Leviathan in the kelp forest? ›

I was in the kelp forest that's something like 50 meters away from the life pod and a Reaper jumped at me. It was a new game and I hadn't explored anywhere further than that area.

What biome is in the most danger? ›

The forest biome most at risk from human development is the rainforest, which has undergone significant deforestation due to logging, power generation, the expansion of agriculture and the paper industry. This massive loss of trees has already contributed to global warming.

What is the most aggressive creature in Subnautica? ›

The Sea Dragon Leviathan is the largest predator in the entire game. If anyone is scared of aggressive giants, this would be at the top of the list. There are only a total of three of them all around the map, two in the Inactive Lava Zone, and one in the Lava Lakes.

What is the best biome to find diamonds in Subnautica? ›

To obtain a large quantity of Diamonds, it is recommended to go to the Sea Treader's Path and break the Shale outcrops that the Sea Treader Leviathans reveal, visit the Mountain Island and its Caves, visit the Mushroom Forest, or the Jellyshroom Cave to find Shale outcrops there.

What do bulbo trees do in Subnautica? ›

Bulbo Trees are a terrestrial flora species found on the Floating Island and Mountain Island. The player can harvest Bulbo Tree Samples from them using a Survival Knife. Bulbo Tree Samples are edible, and a viable source of both Food & Water.

How do you mine big nodes in Subnautica? ›

The small ones can be picked up by hand. The larger ones require the use of a prawn suit with a drill arm to mine. You'll need to go pretty deep to get it, its usually found around the lava castle biome, beneath the lost river. Temperatures and pressures are pretty high down there so you'll need some depth upgrades.

Are there silver nodes in Subnautica? ›

Silver Ore can be found by breaking Argentite Outcrops and Rocks. It can be found in the form of a large resource deposit. Said deposits are especially plentiful at Koppa Mining Site and the Arctic Spires. It can also be found within Ore Veins, which can be found scattered throughout the Glacial Basin and Glacial Bay.

What is the best biome in Subnautica? ›

Shallows/Kelp/Plains are my favorite, but Kelp/Plains/Mushroom is also excellent. In fact, there is one area of the map where both such points exist only a couple hundred meters apart. If you can find it, either one would be a superb location for a main base.

What is the scariest sea creature in Subnautica? ›

The Ghost Leviathan is highly dangerous even in its juvenile state. With a damage level of 84, this beast is one of the most dangerous in the game. They're the giants of predators, with only one being bigger, the Sea Dragon Leviathan.

What is the most deep in Subnautica? ›

There can be deeper than 2000 meters. 8192 meters, can be reached in the Ecological Dead Zone, once you reach that point, you are spawned back to the shallows/surface. So, technically, it is 8192 meters.

What is the biggest threat in Subnautica? ›

The Reaper Leviathan, Ghost Leviathan, and Sea Dragon Leviathan are the only creatures to have a threat level of maximum.
